Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

His release from the hospital follows the global fight fans offered sympathy for the champion in the following the devastating accident.
